Indeed, it is their rut period, the period of love.
The young stags without herd go on an adventure to conquer females. For their part, the old males watch their herd of females carefully.
To approach the doe, the young deer waits for her to move away from her herd, then he runs after her, pushing the pursuit slab .
But the old male on the lookout does not let it go, the fight between the two stags is then inevitable to recover the female. The roar of challenge announces the assault… And the males' antlers clash.
If the two stags get stuck, they die of exhaustion... But most of the time, the winner leaves with the female, pushing the slab of triumph !
